"Un jour, allez savoir pourquoi, le nom de Molyneux est apparu dans notre mâtin, quel Polite. Il a été aussitôt adopté par toute l'équipe, qui en a fait le héros d'un étrange fait divers (absolument authentique). Un passager de wagon-lit, profitant d'un arrêt intempestif en pleine nuit, décide de descendre du train pour fumer un cigare en faisant les cent pas. Le train s'ébranlant silencieusement. Le malheureux Molyneux se trouve abandonné, en pleine nuit, en pyjama, et en robe de chambre, sur le quai désert d'une petite gare perdue. Cet incident a servi de base à Pélaprat pour ses extraordinaires pastiches."
